Breaking the mold

I worked on the art direction and animation for this beautiful documentary about the life of Willa Cather.

Willa Cather wrote all of her books by hand, so the director of the documentary wanted a very analog visual approach.

To achieve this, we used a lot of mixed-media animation techniques, including collage, stop motion, and frame by frame painting.
